I recently had the opportunity to catch up with St. Louis Christian guard Jaden Jones following his visit to Rutgers University. The 6-7 guard has seen his recruitment soar this season and has more than 10 offers from high and mid major programs, including locally at St. Louis University. The talented wing is valued for his length and versatility to score the ball and make plays. Jones can finish at all three levels, has nice range and accuracy out to three, and fill in at one through three, and can defend multiple positions. The 6-7 sharpshooter is a prime target for Rutgers so obviously we wanted to find out his impression of the Big 10 program after spending some time on campus with the Scarlet Knights.

Q:  What were the biggest takeaways from your official visit to Rutgers?
A:  The biggest take away from my visit was the state-of-the-art new facility and the good coaching staff.

Q:  What other schools have you visited?
A:  My only official visits have been to San Diego State and Rutgers. I have a few more visits planned. There are a lot of programs involved with my recruitment.

Q:  What was your impression of the Rutgers’ coaches, players, & campus?
A:  I was very impressed with their good energy and they seemed to be genuine. The players were all cool. They greeted me and showed love. The campus is nice. Lots of places to eat. They even had their own movie theater

Q:  What makes you a good candidate for Rutgers?
A:  They love my positional size. I can play 1 through 3. They strongly feel that I can help take the program to new heights, specifically, they like the way that I make others around me better.

Q:  Who do you feel connected to there?
A:  I was really impressed by Head Coach, Steve Pikiell and Associate Head Coach, Karl Hobbs. Coach Hobbs, who reached out to me, is a very cool coach and knowledgeable.  He has two rings and mentored and coached the likes of Ray Allen, Rip Hamilton, etc.

Q:  What are you looking for in a school?
A:  I am looking for a school where I can grow, be pushed and learn

Q:  Do you have a timetable set for additional visits or your commitment?
A:  I plan on taking a few more this year, but I do not have a timetable for commitment right now.
