Some solid 2021 prospects continue to deliver in Minnesota.  Here’s a quick look at five that are in midst of solid junior campaigns in the state…

Chet Holmgren - 7’0” - F - Minnehaha Academy - Chet is recently coming off a game in which he was one point shy of a triple double adding 9 points, 10 rebounds and 13 blocks.  He showed why he is the best shot blocker that the state has arguably seen.  Chet is a stat stuffer and showed the nation why he is a consensus top 5 prospect nationally.   It’s been a long time since the state of Minnesota has seen a prospect like Chet who plays like a guard but man’s the paint like a true old school big and a player that can truly score most nights whenever he wants.

Trey Longstreet - 6’7” - G/F - Delano High School - Longstreet comes from a Delano program that has had great success over the past 5 years.  He is a Coach’s son who understands how to play the game the right way.  He is a very unique prospect in that his physical presence plus his skills really makes him an impact player that changes the game in many ways.  At 6’7” he can shoot well and handle the ball while forcing mis matches for traditional Power forwards and centers.  He has not only scored and rebounded well for his team this season, but was critical in helping lift his team past undefeated St. Cloud Apollo, a top 10 team in class 3A on Tuesday Jan. 7th.

Davon Townley - 6’8” - PF - Minneapolis North - Davon is currently avg. 18 ppg on the season.  He is currently coming off a big win over the state’s power house in DeLaSalle on Tuesday evening winning 52-51.  Townley finished with a strong performance scoring 19 points and following that up with 17 points on Thursday night against Southwest.  If he can add a consistent jump shot to his game, you can expect that his College interest list will grow.

Trey Johnston  - 6’3” - G -  Spring Lake Park - A player that should be on a Coaches radar.  Trey brings a tough fundamentally sound approach to his game.  He is truly skilled in the areas of shooting and beating opponents to the rim for great finishes in the half court and transition.   He is a strong, high IQ guard that makes plays on both ends of the floor on a senior driven team.  He is at his best when he is in flow transition attacking the basket and shooting the three in transition.  He is a name to remember in the class of 2021. Trey finished Thursday night Jan. 9th, 2020 with a win over Osseo and 23 points.

Keijuan White - 6’0” - G - DeLaSalle - When you think of Keijuan White, one thing that comes to mind is that he plays above the rim.  Standing at 6’0” his athleticism is off the charts.  He possesses College level athleticism in High School which allows him to finish at a high percentage around the basket.  Keijuan is an evolving prospect and working on adding more layers to his game.  As he adds the ability to stretch the floor with his shooting, his stock will start to grow.  He is currently avg. 9.9 ppg on a state tournament contending team that is currently 6 - 2 and the class A defending state champs from 2019.
