As the 2020 class slowly fades into the sunset focus wise a number of talented 2021 prospects continue to heat up and are hungry to take their place at the table.  Once such talent who’s starting to make a lot of noise as expect this season is Amar Augillard of Zion-Benton in Illinois.

Equipped with a powerful near 6-6 220 pound frame, Augillard is in the midst of a stellar stretch of basketball that has Zion-Benton trending upward with each passing week.  Last week Zion-Benton opened a lot of eyes with a big win over previously undefeated Evanston and they followed that up with back to back wins.  The alpha in each win and game after game lately has been Augillard who averaging over 30 points and 11 rebounds per game in his last ten contests and is averaging 28 ppg 9 rpg and close to 4 assists a contest during the season.

Augillard is a versatile and powerful prospect with an ability to score from all three levels in both dominant and consistent fashion.  His defense has taken big steps forward this season and overall as a prospect he’s trending upward in the same path as former Zion-Benton standout Admiral Schofield who’s now with the Washington Wizards did years ago.

Amar has the ability to play multiple positions both on the perimeter and around the basket and that versatility combined with his toughness and strength make him one of the more intriguing prospects in the 2021 class in Illinois and across the Midwest.  Schools from the Mountain West, Big 12, Big Ten, SEC, Big East, etc. have started to kick the tires Augillard.  Expect that to trend upward quickly over the next 6-8 months as he’s primed for a big spring and summer.
