Curtis Jones is a six-foot three-inch sharp shooter from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jones, in his first year as regular starter as a Raider, he was second on the team in scoring at 14.3 points per game, and shot 42.3% from 3. For 2019-20, Jones has made 3’s at slightly higher clip, 46.3% and maintained 14.8 points per game.

Jones has also found ways to contribute to the team via passing, 3 assists per game for two straight seasons and at least 1.8 steals per game. While Cretin-Derham Hall probably underperformed as a team in 2018-19 to their expectations (20-6, lost in sections), in 2019-20 they are 14-2, and trending for another trip to State.

Q: How's season going so far?
A: The season is going well for us. We had a tough lost to Eden Prairie the first game then got on a win streak before losing a game to Wayzata. We did not defend well, we've learned from our losses and are trying to get better every day in practice.

Q: Nice forward thinking mentality. J'vonne kind of said the same. You guys on the same page trying to achieve the same goal this year?
A: Yeah the main goal is of course to win a state championship but like I said we have been trying to take everything one day at a time by just improving as a team and personally.

Q: What are you doing to get better personally?
A: Making sure I keep getting up shots and getting in the weight room.

Q: How's recruiting going for you?
A: Recruiting has been picking up a little bit. I've talked to many JUCO schools, a few D2's, and Drake a couple times.
