Playing alongside the 2021 class, several 2022 players stood out and had big performances at the Futures Camp on Saturday.

Leon Bond – SF – 6’5” - Wauwatosa East (WI)
An athletic wing that was getting to the rim all day on drives and cuts. While he did the bulk of his scoring in the paint, he also showed a good ability to pull up in the mid-range to know down some shots. Was one of the top scorers with his ability to get it done at the basket and in the mid-range both at a high rate.

Airius Benson – SF – 6’7” - Mt. Vernon Township (IL)
Strong and active forward with a good build. Benson was a big presence in the paint on both ends of the court. He showed of some good moves around the basket and did a nice job finishing through contact.

Zach Cleveland – SF – 6’7” - Normal Community (IL)
Tough 6’7” forward who plays with a great motor. Was all over the court throughout his games making plays. Scored it well going to the basket hard. Contributed as well with solid defense inside and out, and rebounded the ball at a high rate.

Connor Essegian – G – 6’4” - Central Noble (IN)
It was very easy to see why Essegian was the MVP of the 2022 class. Not only was the smooth junior scoring the ball in bunches, but he did a bit of everything. Such a pure scorer with a great perimeter jump shot but just as good off the dribble attacking. The 6’4” guard has also stood out with his passing ability often setting up teammates for easy buckets. He was also very active on the glass.

Ethan Marlowe – F – 6’8” - St. Charles North (IL)
Long junior wing forward with good size who could really shoot the ball from three. Given any space he would make the defense pay from beyond the arc. Also plays with good energy and was all over the court making contributions.

Nick Martinelli – SG – 6’7” - Glenbrook South (IL)
Long wing with size at 6’7” and plenty of skills. Quality scorer with a motor that is always looking to attack the basket. Did a very nice job maneuvering around defenders to get inside and finishes at a high level around the paint. Was also able to hit some shots from the mid-range and three to put up some big scoring numbers.

Bryce Moore – G – 6’4” - Carmel (IL)
Tough wing guard with good strength who was one of the better scorers from the 2022 class. He used his strength to get to the basket often and finish well there amongst forwards and post players.

Trey Redd – PG – 5’10” - Normal Community (IL)
Redd is very good with the ball in his hands maneuvering around defenders to get wherever he wants on the court. He has great acceleration to beat his man often off the dribble to dish it out with good passing ability to finish it around the paint.

Trent Tousana – PG – 5’10” - Batavia (IL)
The junior is a skilled distributing point guard. Tousana has good quickness and nice moves with the ball to get plenty of paint touches. Showed off great vision on his drive and always knew where to go with the ball.
