Neenah (WI) has jumped out to an excellent start this season and a solid group of talented prospects is a big reason why.  Equipped with a standout group of seniors and juniors as well as a very talented sophomore they’ve firmly established themselves as one of the breakout teams this season along with Wauwatosa East and a big reason why is the improved play of junior guard Chevalier Emery Jr.

Equipped with a solid near 6-1 155 pound frame, Emery has taken a really nice step forward the past 3-4 months with his development and perspective of the game and the results are translating into both quality play as an individual along with wins as a team, the true measuring stick for a point guard.  On a team that can boast a leading scorer from any of five different individuals on a given night, it’s Emery that stirs the drink and needs to make sure the balance and leadership is there on the hardwood where everyone is happy, not always an easy task.  However, the talented junior has delivered nearly flawless results as Neenah stands at 9-1 on the season.

He can score at multiple levels, he handles it well, and he has improved his playmaking and efficiency this season.  That elevated standard has been huge for Neenah who looks like one of the top teams in the state at the mid-point of the season.  Emery is averaging 12.7 ppg, 3.5 apg, almost 2 rebounds a contest and 1 steal per game.  Still developing, the talented 2022 lead guard is one to watch closely over the next 8-10 months as he’s trending in the right direction as floor general.

He competes with the Wisconsin Blizzard during the grassroots travel season.
