The 16U group came to play all weekend in Dallas. Here are several other players in addition to the top performers and stock boosters that played at a high level and did something big to stand out.

Patrick Cole – 2023 – G – Team Temple
Cole is a good two-way wing guard with some athleticism. He scored the ball very effectively going hard to the basket. The sophomore battles through contract to get to the basket and finish strong there often. However, he stood out the most with his defensive play. With all his physical tools, he does a very good job sticking with ball handlers and locking down both guards and wings.

Owen Evans – 2023 – G – Drive5 Elite
Evans is a pure shooter that can really hit the three. In one game, he was able to drill six threes. Even while hitting threes in bunches, he showed a good shot selection not forcing any bad looks. In addition to his perimeter shooting, he made some very good passes to setup his teammates.

Ty Pence – 2023 – G – Mid Pro Academy
With his great all-around game, Pence was a big reason why Mid Pro rolled to a dominant 4-0 record over the weekend. The 6’6” wing guard just has a good ability to do a bit of everything on the floor and whatever is needed for his team. Pence can score the ball well from all three levels, he has a smooth jumper and plays well off the dribble plus he’s a strong finisher at the rim. He moves well for his size and is a good versatile defender.

AK Rael – 2023 – G/F – Yanders Law
Tournament after tournament, Rael continues to show he is one of the better 2023 scoring wings around. The high IQ sophomore is skilled wing that scores it very efficiently. He shoots it exceptionally well spotting up from three but can also play off the dribble attacking the basket or pulling up in the mid-range.

Danny Staskunas – 2023 – G – JH1 Elite
Staskunas is a 6’2” two guard that is a good high percentage scorer. He is a smooth shooter spotting up from three, knocking down three threes in stretch of just a few minutes. While he is a quality spot up shooter that just couldn’t miss, he can also play with the ball in his hands
