Even as one of the top juniors in all of Wisconsin, Mac Wrecke had yet to receive a scholarship offer. That all changed this past week when the 6’5” two guard of Arrowhead High School and Phenom University received his first offer.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee and head coach Pat Baldwin became the first school to offer Wrecke. The offer comes after Coach Baldwin watched his game on Friday. The Panthers staff has been talking to Wrecke for the past few months and watched him play during open gym this fall.
“I was beyond happy and surprised at the same time. Overall, just very happy,” Wrecke said about receiving the offer.
Receiving the offer was not the only big recent accomplishment for Wrecke. While he is only two games into the junior year of his high school career, in his most recent game this season he scored his 1000th point of his high school career. “Scoring my 1000th point was a great experience knowing only four other players in school history have scored 1000.”
In the young season, Wrecke is averaging 25.5 points per game to have led Arrowhead to a 2-0 start.
