The newest member of the 2023 class off the board from Wisconsin is Danny Staskunas. On Sunday, the 6’3” guard of MTXE Premier and West Allis Hale High School announced his commitment to Trinity Christian College.

The commitment comes after Staskunas was offered earlier this month. His recruitment from the NAIA program heated up in late July after he visited them for their elite camp. “It was a full tour, and I had the chance to talk further with the coaches and some of the players on the team. Having the ability to talk to some of the guys before I eventually committed there was huge for me to understand what Trinity was all about,” Staskunas said about his visit to the Palos Heights, IL school.

“The energy the coaches and players have,” is the first thing the senior said about what he liked about Trinity Christian. Adding in, “The coaches and players were all really nice and knowledgeable about the game. It rubbed me the right way when coaches and players talk and play the way I do.”

The recruitment of Staskunas heated up over the past few months during his time playing with MTXE Premier. “The season for MTXE was a blast. Love the group of guys I competed with…Having that type of commitment from the guys on the team just makes it fun to play.”

For his future at Trinity Christian and how he sees his game fitting in, Staskunas said “My game can have a variety of effects with the program. I can be flexible about the way I play, either a playmaker for other guys or knocking down shots. Any way I can contribute to help the team succeed is what I will do.”
