It was a productive Labor Day for the coaching staff at Wisconsin-Green Bay as they landed another commitment for their 2023 recruitment class. After landing a commitment from Cal Klesmit just a few days ago, they now added a second member of the class after receiving a pledge from Mac Wrecke.

The 6’5” wing guard of Arrowhead High School (WI) and Phenom University had just received his offer from Green Bay earlier this summer in late June. He picked them over his other offers from Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Wofford.

There were multiple reasons why Wrecke chose Green Bay over his other suitors. “The relationship I built with the coaches was the biggest thing for me. The campus is also close to home so my parents would be able to come watch me play,” Wrecke said.

Wrecke had been looking to make his commitment before his senior season started. “Me and my family really been thinking it over where would be the best situation and opportunity for me…and we decided Green Bay was the best opportunity and a great fit for me.” Wrecke had initially took a visit up to Green Bay last summer. “My visit last summer was awesome and I felt really at home.” He also plans on visiting again in the coming weeks.

“I see my game fitting in really well there,” Wrecke stated about his future on the hardwood with the Phoenix. “I feel like I’m someone who can do a lot of different things on the court and I really love the style of play Green Bay plays.
