Last Week, Connor and Declan Dillon announced their commitments to Winona State with matching twitter posts. The brothers are guards of Peoria Notre Dame High School and the Illinois Irish. The pair picked the Warriors over their other scholarship offers from Lewis University and Michigan Tech, as well Connor was offered by Minnesota Duluth.
The commitments come after they both took their official visits to Winona State back in mid-September. Head coach Todd Eisner made a big impression on the Dillon brothers as they committed there after Winona State was their lone official visit. “Right when I got to Winona, I knew I wanted to be there. Everything about it was nice,” Declan stated about his future school.
When Declan was asked about choosing Winona State he said, “The coaches are great guys, the players are great guys, and the campus is just a great fit for Connor and I.”
While it wasn’t always decided that the brothers would end up playing together, Winona State was able to land the pair together. “It was going to be our decision whether to play with each other or not. Honestly if it happened, it happened. But Winona State made us feel like we both needed to go there,” Declan said.
They are joining Malik Abdul-Wahid, a 6’5” forward of Brookfield Central High School, in the Warriors 2020 recruitment class who committed on Sunday. Before Declan gets on campus next fall he has some goals for his senior year “I want to take one game at a time and win every game.”
