The annual NY2LA Sports Generation Next Tip-Off hit the hardwood in Wisconsin this past weekend as a host of up and coming middle school hoops prodigies looked to take another step forward in their development while impressing in the process.  Here’s a look at five players from each of the respective divisions who stood out this past weekend…

8TH GRADE
Tayshawn Bridges – 2024 – G – Team Takeover Elite

Highly talented and dominant, Bridges paced his team to the championship with a stellar collection of efforts.  He can pass, score, etc. and he pairs that with advanced athleticism and instincts.

Robert Booker – 2024 – F/C – Madison La Follette
A talented up and coming young prospect, Booker has great feel, nice hands, solid instincts, and ability to finish around the basket and he competes each possession.  Was impressed with his efforts this past weekend.

James Brown – 2024 – F/C – Mac Irvin Fire
A 6-6 plus interior prospect who brings to mind a young Trey Lyles at first glance, Brown is active in the paint, runs the floor well, can finish around the basket, and he cleans the glass.  He was pivotal in the Fire’s run to the championship game.  Really like his potential.

Quinton Lomack – 2024 – PG – Madison La Follette
A talented guard who handles the ball well, can break down opposing guards, sees the floor well, and he can score at multiple levels.  Instinctively he makes a lot of quality plays and his physically combined with his athleticism makes for a solid prospect to keep tabs on.

Tyron Wright – 2024 – F/C – Iowa Elite
A big strong interior prospect with size and length, Wright was dominant throughout the weekend on the boards and finishing both in transition and around the basket.  Equipped with size, length, strength, and instincts, Wright was a double double machine game in and game out.  

7TH GRADE
Jamarion Batemon – 2025 – G – MAS

A silky smooth quick guard with instincts, skill, and feel, Batemon impacts the game on both ends with efficiency and consistency.  He helped his team to the championship game with a number of quality efforts throughout the weekend.

Blake Fagbemi – 2025 – G – Illinois Attack
A talented up and coming scorer who can put the ball in the basket at multiple levels, Blake stood out at times throughout the weekend with his instincts, skill, and feel.  

Antonio Munoz – 2025 – F – Hoopademix
A strong physical up and coming talent who can score at multiple levels, Munoz was impressive in flashes with his ability to impact the game on both ends.

Damion Porter Jr. – 2025 – G – Hoops 4 Health
A high caliber scoring guard who powered his team to the tournament championship.  Porter can finish at each level, he handles the ball well, he has the ability to take over the game, and he pairs that skill with high caliber instincts and feel.

Andrew Rader – 2025 – F/C – Wisconsin Phenoms
A talented up and coming big in Wisconsin, Rader was impressive with his ability to finish at multiple levels, his ability to catch and finish, he rebounding instincts, and his overall potential.  He checks a lot of boxes right now for a young prospect.

6TH GRADE
Nacari Cavil – 2026 – G – Iowa Elite

He can score at multiple levels and he has the ability to take over the games as well.  He handles the ball well, he can see the floor, and he makes an impact on both ends. 

Jaxson Davis – 2027 – G – Illinois Central Elite
He powered his team to the tournament championship despite playing up a grade.  Very skilled and talented, Davis was lights out throughout the weekend with his overall play.  He ripped the nets on a game winning basket on Saturday and he continued to pour in high caliber effort after high caliber effort on Sunday.

Larry Harts – 2026 – F – Chicago Demons
A solid up and coming talent, Harts was at his best Saturday where he cleaned the glass and scored with dominance.  One to watch closely.

Asher Panfil – 2026 – F – Man Up
He opened some eyes with his efforts this past weekend.  He was able to fill the box score, score at multiple levels, and clean the glass when needed.  

Eddie Vinson – 2026 – G – Racine Truth
He helped his team to a solid final four run with solid scoring and quality activity.  He can finish at multiple levels and his ability to impact the game on both ends was equally impressive at this stage.

5th GRADE
Matthew Greene – 2027 – G – Chicago Demons

He was exceptional throughout the weekend.  He can score in bunches, he handles the ball well, he has range, and he impacts the game on both ends.  In terms of 2027 prospects on the hardwood, Greene and Davis (see above) were big time this past weekend.

Joshua Hendricks – 2027 – F – Mid-Pro Academy
A solid young up and coming player, Hendricks posted some solid efforts while helping his team to a solid final four showing this past weekend.  He can score, he has solid instincts, he finishes with consistency, and he is active on both ends.

Markese Peoples – 2027 – F/C – Chicago Demons
He paired with Greene for a formidable duo that helped power the Demons to the 5th grade championship.  He cleaned the glass, he scored in bunches, and he brought toughness and physicality to the game inside the paint when it was needed.  A 21 point championship game performance paced the Demons to the title.  

Tommie Muskgrow – 2027 – F – Milwaukee Ballaz Elite
There were a handful of players on this team that showed flashes of nice upside including, but not limited to, Justin Speed, Homer Walsh, Muskgrow, etc.  Muskgrow delivered a couple of quality efforts on Sunday to help pace his team to the title game.  He finished around the basket, he was consistent with his activity, and he showed solid instincts and feel game in and game out.
  
Brady Welch – 2027 – G – Mid-Pro Academy
Welch was another up and coming guard that impressed this past weekend.  He showed nice range, handled it well, made solid decisions, and he competed game in and game out.  He showed flashes of solid potential with some nice performances throughout the weekend.
