The class of 2021 continues to slowly come off the board and another domino in the Midwest fell Tuesday night as forward Grant Asman from Kimberly (WI) gave a verbal pledge to Lipscomb.
A 6-10 plus length skilled big, Asman had a solid month of August and he continued to build on that into the fall delivering a number of quality performances that saw a host of Division 1 programs start to take notice. Lipscomb was one of those schools that jumped on board with an offer this month aggressively and on Tuesday night Asman made his decision. “I chose Lipscomb because the great relationship that I was able to build with their entire coaching staff and their current players. When I took an admissions tour there, I could just feel that Lipscomb was special and I could see myself walking around campus as a student and getting a great education.”
A talented big with a nice ceiling, Asman has range that extends beyond the arc and he pairs that with instincts, size, athleticism, and an ability to score at each level to make for a highly intriguing prospect whose best basketball lies ahead and he’s ready to go to work at the next level. “I will be someone that will work hard every day from the second I arrive on campus until I graduate. I can also be a stretch big man that can play inside and out and put players in difficult positions with all of the shooters that are on the team.
Asman is a potential 11th hour steal for the Lipscomb program and a potentially perfect fit for both sides. He played with the Mac Attack program during the grassroots travel season.
