Part one of the NY2LA Futures Camp Selections for the 2023 class included Carson Cuddy, Chris Djurasovic, Ahdrean Ellis, Gavin Farrell, Solomon Garrison II, Landon Key, and Alex Lagerman. This second group includes just as much of a talented list of players, including both of the camp’s 2023 MVP’s. While many could have been included, here are the seven other selections.
Jeremy Lorenz – 2023 – Brillion HS - PF
Lorenz is an athletic and high energy 6’8” forward that showed off his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways all throughout the camp. He had an efficient scoring day while averaging 13.3 points a game but also did a bit of everything for his team. The junior forward showed off his ability to score it down inside and spot up for some threes as well as attack the basket. He has great upside and has earned himself offers from Green Bay and Toledo so far.
Milan Momcilovic – 2023 – Pewaukee HS – SF
No surprise to see the incredible skilled and versatile 6’8” forward on this list as well as being named the 2023 Co-MVP. He was one of the leading scorers of the camp with 17 points per game but also added 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. With his size, skill set, versatility, and scoring ability, he has earned himself several offers including a few high major ones.
Danny Stephens – 2023 – Southeastern HS – G/F
After a good spring and summer with Mid Pro Academy, Stephens had a stellar performance at the Futures Camp. He is an impactful wing that can do a lot on the floor with his versatility, physicality, and good size. There is not much Stephens can’t do on either end but stood out most attacking the basket and finishing everything, rebounding ability, and versatile defensive play.
Grady Thompson – 2023 – Princeton HS – G
The guard was one of the top shooters at the camp. He has a pure jumper with great range to hit five of his six attempts from beyond the arc. While Thompson has a great jumper, he also scored it going to the basket on drives and cuts to average 12.3 points a game. The 6’3” junior played with good energy throughout and knows to play.
TaQuorion Tribune – 2023 – Carmen Northwest HS – PG
A crafty point guard that excelled on both ends. Tribune averaged 15.3 points a game while doing it a variety of ways. With his speed and shiftyness he was able to often get to the basket and finish but also hit some jumpers in the mid-range and three. He plays very well with the ball in his hands and is a smart decision maker. Each game, he was really working on the defensive side battling opposing guards to shut them down.
Nasir Whitlock – 2023 – DeLaSalle HS - PG
Not only was Whitlock apart of this All-Camp Selection list but was also named as the Co-MVP of the 2023 class. He is such a skilled all-around point guard that can do so much on the floor. A dynamic playmaker that excels making plays off the dribble. He was able to average 16.3 points a game as well to running the offense for his team well and playing tremendous on-ball defense.
Mac Wrecke – 2023 – Arrowhead HS – SG
A tough and athletic wing guard that has continued to round out his game to be one of the more impactful players at the camp and make this list. Wrecke has always been able to go strong to the basket but his perimeter jumper has continued to improve. With his smooth jumper he was able to hit five of his eight three-point attempts. He is a high motor player that did a bit of everything all camp stuffing the stat sheet.
