6’0 Luke Westerdale – The Academy 15U 

Luke Westerdale can fill it up in a hurry offensively and has been one of the top scorers in the NY2LA Association all year. Westerdale continued his strong play for The Academy in Atlanta as they captured the 15U title, scoring 20 points in the Final 4 and 17 points in the championship game. Westerdale is a big time shooter and plays with a ton of confidence. He has nice handle and quick first step to get into the paint and brings the intensity defensively, never one to back down from a challenge. Simply put, Westerdale is a winner and will be a name to monitor closely over the next couple of years. 

6’0 Brandon Roddy – All Ohio Select 15U 

Brandon Roddy had a big weekend for All Ohio Select helping lead his team to a runner-up finish in the platinum bracket at Best of the South. The young floor general plays with great pace, can finish at the rim, and showed nice mechanics on his jumper with good rotation. As a Point Guard he is vocal on both ends of the floor, can pass off the dribble with either hand, and plays with a maturity beyond his age, making high IQ plays. Roddy holds an early offer from Xavier and looks like one of the top 2025 guards in the Midwest at this stage. 

6’9 Spencer Ahrens – Monarchs Elite 15U 

Spencer Ahrens was the most intriguing long term prospect I watched at the 15U level at Best of the South. At 6’9 the young big has great footwork and hands, and showed a budding perimeter skillset. Ahrens was able to grab defensive rebounds and push the ball in transition, has good touch on his jumper and even played some as a ball handler in PNR actions. His mobility and skill for a 6’9 15 year old is exceptional, and plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor. Sometimes young players of his level will take their foot off the gas or settle for jumpers – this is not the case for Ahrens who competed on the glass and understands his bread and butter is at the rim. Michigan was on hand to watch Monarchs Elite in Atlanta and expect Ahrens to get a ton of Power 5 interest. 

6’2 Gus Donohue – Greater Purpose 15U 

Gus Donohue was one of the best shooters I watched at Best of the South and a big reason for Greater Purpose 15U’s run to the Final 4. At 6’2 he has good size for a guard at his age and was able to shoot over the top of the defense and get clean looks at the rim. Donohue has a solid handle and flashed some playmaking ability able to operate as a secondary ball handler for Greater Purpose. Donohue was impressive on Saturday making 4 threes in a win over Monarchs Elite, and followed that up making some big time shots down the stretch in a close loss to All Ohio Select in the Final 4 on Sunday. 

6’6 Devin Brown – Power 5 15U 

Devin Brown is another 2025 prospect who has a high ceiling and great foundational tools to build from. At 6’6 Brown is a powerful forward with great hands, able to snatch rebounds in traffic, catch tough drop off passes and finish at the rim. Brown does not shy away from physicality and was simply dominant in the game I watched for Power 5, finishing with 25 points and close to 15 rebounds. He showed good touch from midrange and the free throw line, blocked shots, and ran the floor hard. If Brown grows another two inches he is a player that should get major interest from D1 programs around the country.
