As they head into their holiday break, Homestead High School (WI) holds a 7-1 record including winning their past seven in a row. A main part of their success has been the play of senior Solomon Garrison.

The quick point guard not only leads Homestead in points but assists as well. Garrison is currently averaging a well-rounded stat line of 18.8 points, 5 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. Before that, he was having a strong grassroots season while playing with Chapman Basketball Academy.

Between his play with Homestead and Chapman, he has several colleges recruiting him. This includes those from the division two and three level. So far, he has taken one visit which was to Milwaukee School of Engineering. “It was good,” Garrison said about his visit to the nearby school. “Got to practice and see the entire campus.” The senior is also looking towards taking a visit to Rockford University soon.

For his future college program, Garrison is looking for a good coaching staff and a “good atmosphere where I can improve my game and win.” Scoring, facilitating and being a leader are three things he said he can offer a college program.

When talking about a commitment timeline, Garrison said “I’d like to commit after or towards the end of the season.” With all his team’s success so far, he is looking to continue winning and hopefully win the gold ball to end of his high school career.
