As we move into the new year, the majority of top 2023 players have already made their college commitment. One of the top forwards still available in the Midwest currently is Simeon Murchison. The 6’9” forward currently sits at seventh in the NY2LA Wisconsin class of 2023 rankings.

Over the past year, Murchison has been one of the biggest stock boosters in the area. Following a stellar grassroots season with Team Haliburton, Murchison has continued that into his senior season at Milwaukee Hamilton High School. He is currently averaging a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds per game to have his team out to a 5-1 record. Plus, he is adding in 4.7 blocks and 3.7 steals per game while shooting over 62% from the field.

Murchison received his lone division one offer this past summer from his hometown school, Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has already taken a few visits there for games. “It was a fun time for me. I like how the team plays and the coaching staff is awesome. I love watching the team play.” He is also receiving interest from other programs, most notably IUPUI. He is an intruiging high upside forward. At 6'9" with his strength, Murchison can be a force on the interior but also stretch the floor hitting outside jumpers. He is mobile forward who plays with good energy.

The senior is looking to make his commitment before the end of the season or quickly following the season. Look for Milwaukee Hamilton to be a popular spot for college coaches over the next couple of months as they also have another unsigned senior on their roster in Demarion Burch who holds multiple division one offers.
