It has been a difficult few months for unsigned senior Gavin Farrell. The 6’2” guard sustained an injury during the football season back in September but was able to rehab and be ready for the start of the basketball season. All to only reinjure himself in the first half of the first basketball game.

With being sidelined for the past few months included nearly the entire basketball season so far, Farrell has flown under the radar to college coaches for a player of his level. Some of the schools to have shown interest in him recently include St. Norbert, Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Wisconsin-Platteville, Wisconsin-Whitewater amongst others.

“I’m looking for a college that believes in me as a player and as a student,” Farrell said about his search for his future college. He is looking towards taking a visit to St. Norbert soon. “Playing basketball in college has been a dream my entire life. I can bring the energy to any college.”

Over the past years before his injury, Farrell has been one of the more consistent 2023 guards in Wisconsin. As a junior he scored 11.7 points and had 6 rebounds per game. He has consistently proven his scoring ability over the past few years on the grassroots level including this past year with the Wisconsin Swing. As well to having a pure jumper from the outside, the senior is an unselfish and high IQ guard who can handle the ball and make plays off the dribble. “I can offer leadership and heart,” he said about what he can bring to the next level.

While it has been a while since he has been on the court, he still has plenty of tools to offer a college programs and could be a nice late pickup for the right team. Farrell is eyeing the start of February to return to the hardwood and help his team finish off the season.
