The newest player from Wisconsin’s 2023 class to receive their first scholarship offer is Tre Miller. After two highly productive seasons at Janesville Parker High School, it finally paid off in the offer. After averaging 17.3 points as a junior last year, the 6’1” guard has been one of the top scorers in the area averaging 22.5 points per game this season. This led to him recently passing the 1,000-point mark as well to becoming his school’s all-time leading scorer.

The offer for Miller came from Valley City State this week. “It feels great and it’s really exciting. I’m glad my time and hard work paid off.” While he hasn’t visited there yet, he is looking to take a visit soon to the North Dakota school. As well to the offer, he does have interest from a number of programs including Beloit, Rockford, and St. Norbert’s.

While the scoring ability of Miller may stand out first, he describes his game as a “very good two-way player.” Adding in, “I can shoot the ball confidently…I have a tight handle to go to the rim and finish. I also have the vision to dump it off or kick it out. I feel like I can also get very active on the defensive end because I have a decent amount of length.”

A commitment from the senior may not be far off. “I’m hoping to commit pretty soon here. Maybe looking towards the end of March.” Miller played with the Wisconsin Swing program.
