Plenty of players from the 16U level at this year’s Swish N’ Dish boosted their recruitment stock. While dozens could be included on this list, here are some of the players who helped themselves the most with their play throughout the weekend.
Jax Abalos – 2025 – G/F – M14 Hoops
Abalos had one of the top shooting games of the tournament knocking down six threes. The sharpshooter is a lengthy 6’5” wing with a great stroke who was hitting his shots right over defenders. As well to his shooting, Abalos was very active with his rebounding and on defense.
Nick Allen – 2025 – PF – Illinois Wolves
At 6’10”, Allen is a mobile rim running forward. He scored the ball on a high percentage of his paint touches finishing with ease utilizing his length. As well, Allen impressed with his passing ability out of the post, active interior defense blocking shots, and battling hard on the glass constantly. He shows all the tools to be one of the top 2025 big men in Illinois.
Josiah Ball – 2025 – G/F – EG10
Ball had a big weekend in helping EG10 win the 16U gold championship, this included a 24-point performance. There are plenty of different aspects to like about Ball’s game. He stands at 6’7” with some length, versatile skill set, and plays with good energy. There is little on the floor that the sophomore cannot do.
Christian Cummings – 2025 – PG – Mac Irvin Fire
Cummings had one of the better performances of the weekend with a clutch and efficient 19-point performance in a hard-fought and talent filled semifinals win over Power 5. The sophomore is a skilled scoring guard that plays so well with the ball in his hands. With his quickness and moves, he moves exceptionally well with the basketball getting wherever he wants on the floor. While he scored it at a high rate on his drives, he is more than a willing passer reading the defense plus shot it well spotting up from three.
Jonah Funk – 2025 – SF – MidPro Academy
While just a sophomore, Funk already has a lot of desirable traits. He has great size and length on the wings standing at 6’9”. For his size he moves very well and runs the floor hard. As well to scoring in transition and on some alley-oops, Funk also showed some ability being able to handle the ball. Funk is a 2025 to track with his great upside.
Anestis Hadjistamoulou – 2025 – PG – Greater Purpose Athletics
A smart and skilled point guard that scored and distributed the ball well all tournament long. In an impressive victory to advance to the quarterfinals of the platinum bracket, the sophomore scored an efficient 18 points. He moves well with the ball getting to his spots and knows where to go with the ball reading the defense. A versatile scorer with a smooth jumper but was also finishing around the paint too.
Myles Herro – 2025 – PG – Team Herro
Herro was one of the top distributors of the entire tournament and a key piece of Team Herro’s championship weekend. The point guard plays strong with the ball in his hands maneuvering and getting into defenses. He showed such a great ability to read the floor, play a step ahead of the defense and quickly deliver pinpoint passes out to his teammates.
Drew Murphy – 2025 – G/F – Wisconsin Swing
After a big high school season, it was a strong start to the grassroots season for Murphy. He has a well-rounded skill set, knows how to play, and some size at 6’5” with a solid build. Murphy is a versatile scorer with a smooth jumper who shot the ball at a high percentage spotting up from three, but also drove it into the paint, and scored posting up against larger post players. A 2025 with plenty of tools for coaches to track.
Ross Robertson – 2025 – F – MTXE Premiere
Throughout his high school career, the game of Robertson has continued to greatly develop. He is 6’8” with good strength and plays well in the paint scoring strong and grabbing every board near him but there is much more to his game. Robertson also showed a good ability being able to handle the basketball and attack the basket strong. He has a great combination of tools that will make him a desirable prospect.
Anton Strelnikov – 2025 – F – All In
A true breakout performer having himself a 20-point game to start off Saturday. He is a powerful and skilled forward that scored it well down on the block as well with his jumper on the outside. Strelnikov stands at 6’6” but plays even bigger inside with his aggressiveness as well he showed a nice array of post moves.
