While Jamarion Batemon entered the spring with a scholarship offer for himself already, his recruitment has started to take off this spring. As well to picking up his first high major offer recently, he has also picked up interest from several notable programs.

The 6’3” guard had a breakout sophomore in which he averaged 20.5 points at Milwaukee Academy of Science. Batemon has continued the high level of play into the spring with a very strong Power 5 team that also has Devin Brown, Chris Davis Jr, among others. Batemon and Power 5 16U started the spring with a semifinals appearance at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish and then won the NY2LA Sports Invitational last weekend. “My spring season went very well this year as my stock has risen a lot.”

The first offer for the 2025 guard came a year ago last June from Grambling State. Earlier this month, Batemon received his second offer coming from Illinois. “It felt like a dream come true,” he said about getting the Big 10 offer. “I was so happy and excited that all my hard work is paying off.”

As well to the new offer, the interest continues to build for Batemon. BYU, Iowa State, and Wisconsin are some of the new programs showing interest in him. He has a couple of visits planned in Illinois and Iowa State. He has continuously proven that he is one of the elite scorers from the 2025 class in the Midwest. There are few players around with his ability to create their own shot and hit them from the outside.
