Day one of the NY2LA Final Chapter got off to a big start here at Homestead High School on Thursday. With bracket starting up for the NY2LA Association championships, players were bringing their best game leading to some stellar action.
Trey Booker – 2024 – PG – Hidden Gems
Booker was one of the top scorers on the opening day going for a whopping 29 points. A skilled all-around guard who can knock down jumpers at a high rate, make plays off the dribble, and has a very nice combination of passing ability and vision while playing on the attack.
Terrance Hill – 2024 – PG – Indy EBC
Hill has an incredibly high skill level on the offensive end. On the offensive end, the guard was just taking over the game and could not be stopped going for 26 points. With the ball in his hands, he is a very skilled scorer getting it done from all three levels. He moves extremely well with the basketball and shoots it so well off the dribble.
Malachi Johnson – 2024 – G – Greater Purpose Athletics
It was a big day one for Johnson helping his team to a pair of opening day victories. He scored nineteen points in the opening game and then went for eighteen to get them into the sweet sixteen of the tournament. Johnson has continued to show the ability to do so much on both ends of the floor and is having a stellar summer.
Peyton McKenna – 2024 – G – Chapman Basketball Black Elite
Big upset on day one of the Final Chapter with CBA Black Elite taking down a very talented DB Pros team. McKenna had a very large part in the victory scoring 25 points. The guard was just not missing from the outside hitting a staggering seven threes in the victory.
Nolan Minessale – 2024 – SF – Chapman Basketball Gold Elite
Minessale continues to put up big numbers this year going for 23 points leading his team to a win Thursday night. Known for his slashing ability, he has started shooting the ball better this month from the outside. After hitting a few threes at the Summer Jam last week, he hit a couple of threes in this one. If he can consistently hit threes, it should take his recruitment to another level.
