While it can be tough enough to be a star in one sport, Brock Massey has found a way to do in two sports. With his play on the hardwood as well as the gridiron, Massey is receiving college interest from both basketball and football programs. In addition to those two sports, he also earned first team all-conference honors during the spring in baseball.
After being Offensive Player of the Year in the South Central Conference this fall for the Mauston High School (WI) football team he is now having a stellar basketball season. Six games into his senior season, the 6’4” wing guard is averaging 27 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals per game, leading his team in all four categories. This all comes after he was Player of the Year in basketball last season as a junior.
Massey is receiving interest in both sports right now and is open to playing either at the next level. Among the schools recruiting him for basketball are Milwaukee School of Engineering, Stevens Point, St. Norbert’s, and others. On the football side, there are both division two and three programs involved in his recruitment.
“Versatile and intelligent,” was how Massey describe his own game. “Because of my ability to fit in on any team and know my role.” As he nears 2,000 points for his school career, Massey is a proven scorer but can also impact the game in a variety of ways. He is a unique talent who has a very good combination of size, strength, IQ, and skill set. He has no timeline on his college commitment and is looking to “wait to see what basketball brings me.”
Massey played with the Wisconsin Swing program.
