The NY2LA Classic featured six games at Brookfield Central High School on Saturday. Some of the top teams from Wisconsin were participants. Here are evaluations of the top juniors and seniors from the day.

Travis Bentley – 2020 – G – Pewaukee High School
Impressive outing by Bentley as he put up 23 points and 4 assists. Strong with the ball and moves very well with it to beat defends off the dribble constantly. Did a good job getting all the way to the basket and finishing there. While at his best driving can also hit the three, and was able to get to the free throw line often.

Carter Capstran – 2021 – F – Franklin High School
Versatile and energetic 6’6” junior forward who does a bit of everything. Good with the ball and creates shots well for himself in the mid-range, plus spotted up for a couple threes to score 24 points. Solid defender who can guard inside and out.

Declan Ciurlik – 2021 – G – Homestead High School
Tough, good size 6’3” point guard that had a huge 27 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists performance to lead Homestead to a victory. Scored the ball in a variety of ways; took it strong to the basket, hit three threes, and even posted up for a couple buckets. Moves well attacking the basket and smart with the ball in his hands. Did a bit of everything in this one to lead his team.

Jakai Davis – 2020 – G – Menomonee Falls High School
Davis is a tricky guard to stick with. Has some quickness, good handle, and shifty moves with the basketball. Scores it well going to the basket on drives and can also pull up in the mid-range, plus has some range spotting up for a three. Smart and active defender that is tough to beat and got a few steals, able to turn some of them into easy transition buckets.

Jeremiah Dotson – 2021 – F – Brown Deer High School
Strong and athletic 6’7” junior forward that was an absolute force in the paint. Plays with a big motor and dominated the offensive glass, scoring on several put backs. Also scores around the basket posting up and cuts to tally up 22 points.

Logan Geissler – 2020 – PG – Bay Port High School
Impactful floor leader that made it all happen for Bay Port in the win. Scored the ball in a variety of ways but also did a very nice job distributing the basketball. Good quick decision maker that always seemed to know where to go with the basketball. Skilled passer that does a good job dishing it out. Scored 16 points on a highly efficient 7-9 shooting from the floor. Good tough perimeter defender.

Carter Gilmore – 2020 – G – Arrowhead High School
Versatile 6’7” guard that is incredibly tough to defend. Has good size, moves so well taking it to the basket, made several good cuts, and can shoot it from the perimeter. So few players with his size have the agility and moves he does going to the basket. Drew so much attention but still put up 29 points in addition to 10 rebounds.

Gerald Gittens Jr – 2020 – PG – St. John’s Northwest Military Academy
Strong and athletic point guard. Always attacking and takes it strong to the basket. Just 6’0” but plays big and overpowers defenders. Was getting into the paint often and creating for himself and teammates. Was able to score on a few drives and showed good vision while driving.

Justin Greenlee – 2020 – PG – Brown Deer High School
Skilled point guard who is quick with the basketball and tricky to stick with. Very active and makes plays on both ends of the court. With his quickness and moves with the ball, he gets into the mid-range and paint to create good scoring opportunities for himself. On the other end, he put good pressure on the basketball forcing a few turnovers.

David Joplin – 2021 – F – Brookfield Central High School
The forward had one of the more impressive performances on the day. Such a smooth jumper spotting up from three as well as pulling up in the mid-range. Moves well with the basketball to create good scoring opportunities for himself in the mid-range and around the basket to put up 26 points. Did a good job defending Carter Gilmore when moved onto him in the second half. Such a high skill level with size at 6’7”.

Ethan Kelly – 2021 – G – Homestead High School
Bouncy guard made some big plays in the second half to help Homestead get a win. Effective play maker on both ends of the court. Tough on ball defender that was able to force a few turnovers and block a couple shots. Gets to the basket well in the half court and transition to finish strong at the rim.

Nicodemus Meyer – 2021 – C – Franklin High School
Lanky big man with good size at 6’10”. Big presence in the defensive paint as he deterred drivers all game plus moves well for his size. Showed off a good shooting stroke from the free throw line. Still developing but shows promise.

Ben Nau – 2021 – PG – Brookfield Central High School
Such a dynamic playmaking point guard. Can score and distribute the ball equally as well. Strong with the ball and changes speeds to get into the defense and create. Also shoots the ball at a high percentage from three with deep range.

Brandin Podziemski – 2021 – SG – St. John’s Northwest Military Academy
High scoring guard with good size at 6’5” that had 31 points. Knockdown shooter from the outside when he is set with plenty of range, hitting six threes in the game with plenty of attention of him. Shoots it well spotting up or off the dribble. Also contributed in many other areas; defending whoever was needed for his team one through five, took a charge, and grabbed 12 big boards.

Michael Poker – 2020 – G – Brookfield East High School
Highly impressive shooting performance hitting seven threes (on just eleven attempts) on his way to a 30-point outing. Moves well without the basketball to get good looks and doesn’t force anything. Knockdown shooter when spotting up.

Eric Radisevic – 2020 – PF/C – Brookfield Central High School
Intriguing 6’9” post with a strong frame. Still developing but can score it around the basket posting up as well he can stretch the floor hitting his only three-point attempt. Active big man who battles tough in the paint on both ends.
