Cade Haskins is six-foot, six-inch sharp shooter from DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. That shooting efficiency has propelled Haskins in 2019-20 through 12 games as the second leading scorer for the Islanders averaging 17.7 points per game. The Islanders are 11-2 so far this season, and the 2021 junior has been a big reason for that success.

We caught up with Cade on his season, how defense is important at DeLaSalle, and his current recruitment.

Q: How's your season going so far?
A:  The season is going well. Our team is getting a lot closer to one another. Which is only going to make us improve and push each other in practice every day.

Q: What have you worked on to improve?
A: I have been working a lot on my defense because that a huge part of what we do at DeLaSalle.

Q: Do the coaches have an expectation out of you guys on defense?
A: They want us to be the best defensive team in the state.

Q: What part of your game do you think sets you apart from others?
A: Probably my ability to get my shot off basically anywhere and on anyone because I have such a high release.

Q: How's recruiting going for you? Any offers?
A: It’s going good. I have one offer from North Dakota. Hopefully more to come.
