While the majority of teams across all of Wisconsin are several games deep into their high school season, there are some teams still waiting for their season to start. One of these is Verona High School and 6’1” sophomore guard Gavin Farrell. Verona is now allowed to start practicing and can start their games on January 12th.

While Farrell is just now getting to start practicing with his high school team, that has not stopped him from working on his game recently. “I’ve been working out and shooting hoops at every opportunity,” he said on how he has continued to improve his game. With his strong scoring ability, Farrell is looking towards the other side of the court to improve his game. “I want to improve my one-on-one defense,” he stated on if there are any pieces of his game he would like to work on.

During the summer Farrell was a standout playing with the Wisconsin Dynasty program. Farrell is a skilled all-around guard. He is skilled scorer and shoots the ball at a high percentage from the outside. One player that he looks to model his game after is Klay Thompson because he is “always looking to shoot.”

Even while missing much time during the summer due to a back injury, the sophomore guard has started to attract some college interest for himself. Division one University of Portland is one school that has stood out that is showing interest in him in addition to a few Midwest schools on various levels.
