One junior in Wisconsin that has continued to see his recruitment soar over the last several months has been Donavan Short. Just recently Short picked up his fourth scholarship offer. Short is a 6’10” power forward that attends Denmark High School and plays with the Phenom University program.

On Thursday, Short’s fourth offer came in via Wisconsin-Green Bay and his fifth from Toledo shortly thereafter. He also has a pair offers from high major programs, USC and Virginia Tech. As well, Wisconsin-Milwaukee was his first offer coming back in June. Some other prominent programs have expressed interest in him including Cal, Iowa State, and Ohio State.

Short is having a breakout season this year. He is currently putting up 24.5 points to go along with 9.7 rebounds per game. This has led Denmark to a 9-3 record so far this season.

While Short stands at 6’10” and has a strong build, there is plenty of skill to his game. He is an agile big man that in addition to playing on the block, can play out on the perimeter. He can consistently knock down threes in addition to being able to put the ball on the floor. In a game earlier this year, he hit seven threes in a single game.

Short is looking to become a more versatile player on the defensive end. “I would like to improve more on being defensively sound, being able to step out and guard the two, three, as well and the four, five spots,” the junior said on how he would like to improve in his game.
