One of the more sought-after division two prospects in all of Wisconsin recently made his college decision. Marcus Tomashek made his commitment to Michigan Tech University. Tomashek is a 6’5” 2022 guard who attends Ashwaubenon High School and played with the JH1 Elite program.

After taking his official visit to the school on Michigan’s upper peninsula a few weeks ago, Tomashek felt it was the time to announce his college plans. “Knew it was the place I should be,” the senior commented on why he decided to make his commitment now to Michigan Tech.

Tomashek picked the Huskies over offers from Hillsdale College, Minot State, St. Leo, and Wisconsin-Parkside. While he did have interest from plenty of other programs, he has no interest in waiting for additional offers as he was happy with the schools that had offered him.

The main factors that came in to play with Tomashek picking Michigan Tech was great relationships with the coaches, the location, and a very good team. The Huskies are coming off back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

Tomashek will be bringing plenty of scoring ability to Michigan Tech next year. Over the past several months, he proved to be one of the top shooters in the Midwest. With his strong play all year with JH1, he was able to earn himself 17U second team honors for the NY2LA Basketball Association.
