Adison Mittelstadt is one of the top scoring guards in Wisconsin’s 2023 class and has continued to expand his game this winter, leading Mayville HS to a 14-8 record. Mittelstadt made a name for himself last year with Movement Hoops in the NY2LA Basketball Association after being named 2nd Team All-League for the 16U division.

Mittelstadt has filled up the stat sheet this winter even while being at the top of the scouting report and facing box-and-1s. Through 22 games, he is averaging 22.3 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 4.7 apg and 3.4 spg.

Mittlestadt is at his best playing downhill into his midrange pull-up game, where he can consistently rise up and hit jumpers on the move. He is a crafty finisher at the rim and has nice footwork allowing him to post smaller guards for easy buckets. When he gets going Mittelsadt is tough to stop - the junior has scored 25 or more points in 8 games this winter, including a season high 36 point outburst in January.

Mittelstadt has shown major growth as a three-point shooter and has proven to be a threat from deep when in rhythm. After hitting 6 threes in 20 games as a sophomore, Mittlestadt has connected on 30 triples already this season in similar minutes. The junior has also improved his decision-making playing in ball screens and reading help defenders. While not a true PG at this stage, Mittelstadt has primary ball handling responsibilities for his HS team and has shown good feel for the game creating for teammates and has seen a rise in his assist numbers. He has good defensive instincts getting in passing lanes for steals and battles on the defensive glass.

Mittelstadt carries a heavy load for Mayville, and this season his production has been impressive. Look for Mittelstadt to see his recruitment expand this Spring and Summer as he is a potential D2 scholarship level talent who could get looks at the low major D1 level.
