One of the biggest breakout stars this season in Wisconsin’s 2023 class has been Dino Cook Jr. for Kingdom Prep Lutheran High School. After putting up a modest 3.7 points a game during his sophomore season last year, this season he has exploded for 19.2 points a game. As well to averaging 5 rebounds and 2 assists a game.

With his play, the list of college coaches recruiting him has only continued to grow to a long list of division one schools. So far, Cook has taken visits to Columbia, Howard, Valparaiso, and VMI. Other schools that are recruiting him include Belmont, Cornell, Princeton, and Toledo. A couple schools he would like to visit in the near future are Cornell and Princeton.

“I try to model my game after two of my favorite players, Noah Kirkwood from Harvard and Hunter Maldonado from Wyoming,” Cook said describing his game. Adding in, “The players I just mentioned have a versatile skillset which allows them to play multiple positions, they are guards. I play similar to them, I’m not at their level yet, but one day I will be as long as I keep working hard on the right things.” While he wants to work on “enhance everything” about his game, two specific aspects he wants to improve are his finishing and his strength.

If Cook continues his current trajectory, look for him to be one of the more popular 2023 names in Wisconsin. This spring he will be playing with the ABC Young Lions.
