2023 6’8 Milan Momcilovic – Team Herro EYBL 17U
Milan Momcilovic showed why he is one of the hottest 2023 prospects in the country leading Team Herro to the 17U Championship at WI Spring Showdown. At 6’8 Momcilovic has exceptional footwork and a silky-smooth jumper with a quick release. He was able to score from three as well as operate out of the mid post where he has a deep bag of counters to get his shot off. His combination of size, skill and feel for the game immediately stand out, and although he needs to get stronger, Momcilovic is a prospect we may be talking about in NBA draft projections within the next 2-3 years. Momcilovic has recently picked up offers from Gonzaga, Virginia, Miami and UCLA to add to a long list of schools recruiting him.
2023 6’3 Levi Birkholz – Wisconsin Crusaders Premier 17U
Birkholz is a physical and bouncy lead guard who was impossible to keep away from the rim over the weekend for WI Crusaders Premier, as they finished runner up at the event. Birkholz has a quick first step and was able to get downhill, finish at the basket and get to the free throw line. A big-time athlete, Birkholz was a walking highlight and seemed to be on a mission to dunk everything. He has good mechanics on his jumper and knocked down threes when in rhythm. One of the better 2023 prospects in WI, look for Birkholz to be a hot name for mid major schools in the Midwest this summer.
2023 6’0 Arhman Lewis – Movement Hoops 17U
Arhman Lewis impressed for Movement Hoops over the weekend, helping lead his team to a 3-1 record and Final 4 finish. Lewis is shifty point guard who plays with the ball on a string. He was able to get into the paint consistently to create for himself and teammates, and plays with his eyes up at all times, making some nice kick ahead passes for transition layups. Movement Hoops fell to Team Herro in the Final 4 on Sunday, but Lewis scored 16 points and made 4 threes, showing his ability to create space off the dribble to get his shot off from deep. Lewis was the top pure PG I watched in the event and continues to trend up within Wisconsin’s 2023 class.
2023 6’0 Jamiir Allen – ABC Young Lions 17U
Jamiir Allen fueled ABC Young Lions to a big weekend and Final 4 finish at Wisconsin Spring Showdown. When Allen can get downhill to his left hand, good things happen for his team. He was able to finish at the rim, made some nice drop of passes to teammates and flashed a smooth midrange pull up game. Allen is constantly putting pressure on defenses with the ball in his hands and takes pride in pressuring the ball defensively. Allen was the engine for his team all weekend and his energy on both ends of the floor was infectious.
2024 6’4 Tim Franks – Chapman Basketball Academy 16U
Tim Franks continued to establish himself among the top sophomores in the state, showing off his full game over the weekend. He has good size on the wing at 6’4, great mechanics on his jumper with a quick and compact release and is as fundamentally sound of a player as I watched all weekend. Franks is deadly from deep, forcing defenders to run him off the three-point line. When he attacks the rim, he showed ability to finish with either hand, and didn’t force anything offensively – passing up good looks to find open teammates for great looks. Franks is as skilled a player as there is in Wisconsin’s 2024 class.
2025 6’7 Xzavion Mitchell – Team Herro EYBL 15U
Xavion Mitchell may have an argument for the to 2025 prospect in Wisconsin. At 6’7 with a strong build, the best word to describe Mitchell’s game is versatility. He defends, can be a one man fast break grabbing defensive rebounds and pushing the ball in transition, has shown great vision and can finish above the rim. When Mitchell’s motor is running high, he can take over games on both ends, doing all the little things to help his team win. He was key for Team Herro 15U as they played up in the 16U division and got 2 impressive wins over WI Blizzard and Chapman Gold.
2024 6’3 Quinton Lomack – Phenom University EYBL 16U
Quinton Lomack continues to improve and is one of the more intriguing long-term prospects in Wisconsin’s 2024 class. A big bodied, physical, lead guard, Lomack has spent more time as the primary ball handler with his Phenom U team this spring. He can break defenders down off the dribble to get into the paint, gets his team into sets efficiently, and made some impressive reads out of pick n roll actions and when drawing help getting downhill to the rim. Lomack is also becoming more athletic as he put down 2 in game dunks in one half on Sunday morning. The next step in his development will be to fine tune his jump shot mechanics and become more consistent as a shooter, but he has the physical attributes, competitive edge and feel for the game that project to the division 1 level.
