Spring after spring there are always breakout stars, and this year was no different. The talent rich Midwest does not disappoint. Here are a few of the many stock boosters for the rising seniors.

Mekhi Cooper – 2023 – PG – IL Flight

The electric guard has been one of the biggest stock risers of the entire spring earning himself multiple division one offers recently. After a tremendous spring with Flight, he has continued that up this June with Bolingbrook High School. Not only is he a skilled scorer that can get to the rim and create his own shot but also runs the point well and defends the ball. He has earned himself offers from Cal Poly, Eastern Illinois, Missouri State, SIUE and others recently.

Jake Fiegen – 2023 – SG – Full Package

As well to being one of the top shooters around, Fiegen has continued to develop the rest of his game. He has some size in the back court, knows how to play, and has a great overall scoring package. A high academic recruit that has solidified himself as a surefire division one prospect this spring.

David Meriwether – 2023 – PF/C – George Hill All Indy

After a good junior season, the 6’10” big man continued to put it all together this spring. Tournament after tournament he showed greater ability on both ends of the floor. He has a great combination of size and agility plus has continued to show further offensive game. He received his first offer in May from IUPUI and recently Miami (OH).

Drew Scharnowski – 2023 – SF – Breakaway Basketball

The 6’8” wing started the spring with a tremendous performance at the Swish N’ Dish and continued that all the way into June. He entered the spring without a single offer and finished it in the double digits and emerged as one of the top prospects in Illinois for the 2023 class. He has a great blend of size, skill, and versatility that make him so appealing for the next level.

Kamari Slaughter – 2023 – SG – 94 Feet Elite

Every game Slaughter impressed helping 94 Feet Elite to a tremendous spring and to be one of the top 17U teams on the NY2LA Association. He has good size, a playmaker with the ball, and excels on both ends of the floor. A true winning player that should be on division one coaches radars.
