Over the past year, Demarion Burch has continued to grow his game and was finally rewarded with his first scholarship offer. After a breakout junior season in which he averaged 29.7 points per game at Milwaukee Hamilton High School, the 6’4” guard has continued that high level of play with Team Haliburton.

On Thursday Burch received his first division one offer from Wisconsin-Milwaukee. “First off I want to thank god for putting me in this position to be great and without him none of this would be possible,” he said about receiving the offer. Adding in “Secondly I want to thank my family and coaches for being here for me and helping me on this journey to success. It feels good to receive my first division one offer from my hometown school, it’s a blessing for sure.”

There are a few different aspects Burch likes about the Panthers from its location, coaches, and team itself. “I love the location because it’s my hometown and I was born and raised here. I like the coaching staff because the hard work and discipline, and that will help me be a better ball player. The team plays hard, they communicate, everyone is a leader, and they all hold each other accountable.”

While Wisconsin-Milwaukee is the first offer, there are several other suitors for the rising senior. Bradley, Minnesota, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Southern Indiana, Valparaiso, and Wisconsin-Green Bay are some of the other programs interested in Burch.
